EVA of Ohio held an EV Meet and Greet at Oakwood Village on Wednesday, July 22 from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Oakwood Village Community Center located at 23035 Broadway Ave. Oakwood, OH 44146. Mayor Erica Nikolic, and Lauren Reese from Oakwood Village were there to welcome us. Chris Celek, EVA of Ohio vice president, discussed how EV ownership can drive manufacturing growth in Ohio where the automotive industry has historically been an engine for economic growth.
About 40 EVA member and residents enjoyed pizza and soda, marveled over the 10 or so EVs that were present and had their questions about EVs answered by our members. Some folks drove up from Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton to attend the event and celebrate the EVA of Ohio being recognized as the national Chapter of the Year by the Electric Vehicle Association.
The stars of the show were perhaps the two Cadillac Optiq EVs. One resident of Oakwood Village, a retired automotive worker in Detroit, commented that the red Optiq was the finest vehicle he’d ever seen!
