I am filled with pride in how far the Electric Vehicle Association of Ohio has come. I am fond of saying, “We are not a car club.” We are a 501(c)(3). We emphasize educating Ohioans in rural and urban communities and to people with varying incomes on the benefits of owning, leasing or purchasing a new or used EV.
Since the founding of the Electric Vehicle Association of Ohio a year ago today, many exciting things have happened. We have held or participated in 65 events before approximately 238,346 people.
We have launched an awesome website: evaohio.org and built three functioning teams who are doing great work in greater Cleveland, Cincinnati and Dayton.
Our motto is EVs For All. What this past year has shown us is that people are EV-curious. They are becoming more open and accepting of EVs as they see more and more of them driven and/or parked in driveways of family, friends or neighbors.
Over the last year we have utilized many different methods to encourage people to drive and/or ride and experience our personal vehicles. We have held events in numerous counties across the great state of Ohio.
I am excited about what the future will bring. There have been setbacks encouraged by the administrations in Columbus and Washington. These actions are temporary because the rest of the world is surging forward with EV adoption. It is only a matter of time before American workers are set free to compete with EV makers throughout the world and show their creativity and ingenuity in making EVs good for the environment, exciting to drive, and reasonably priced.
In the meantime, EVA of Ohio will continue to work hard, educate thousands to the economic, social and healthful benefits of driving EVs.
To all of you who have made this year a roaring success, thank you.
We may only be one year old but we have spent years in the making to reach where we are and we will continue to work hard and expand, spreading the message that driving an EV in Ohio is exciting.
Happy birthday to the Electric Vehicle Association of Ohio!
