On Thursday May 7 EVA of Ohio joined dozens of other non-profits, educators and businesses speaking with over 2,000 middle schoolers from Adams, Brown, Clermont, and Highland Counties in Ohio. The Little State STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Math) event highlighted how these fields equip students for a wide range of jobs. Students could discover career paths they may have never imagined!
Our EVA of Ohio volunteers were delighted to share the variety of STEM opportunities with EVs, including software, manufacturing and design, battery tech, service & repair, and building charging infrastructure. One common student question was about where EVs will be in 10 years. EVs already make every day more exhilarating for drivers. Ten years of cost and convenience improvements will make them even more compelling!
We served 200 cups of hot chocolate from the cavernous frunk of an F-150 Lightning pickup truck, heating the water using an electric kettle plugged into one of the frunk’s 4 outlets. With students queued up, we had good discussions about portable power and what’s different living with an EV.
We were excited to do our part to inspire the next generation to pursue jobs in cleaner and greener technologies.
